Overview

What does Notes Generator do?

Paste a passage and the tool splits it into sentences, then groups them into small clusters that become topics. Each topic is presented with its sentences as bullet points, turning a dense paragraph into a readable note structure.

The grouping is sequential, so the notes preserve the order and flow of your source material.

Under the hood

How does it work?

The tool detects sentences, filters out very short fragments, and packs them into groups of three. Each group becomes a topic block with the sentences listed beneath it. This simple chunking creates a natural outline you can then edit, expand, or turn into flashcards.

Technical information

How the details work

Sentences are detected with a regex split on sentence-ending punctuation and trimmed. Fragments shorter than fifteen characters are dropped, then the remaining sentences are chunked into groups of three. Each group renders as a topic heading with bulleted sentences.

Privacy & security

Your data stays yours

All processing happens locally in your browser. Your text is never uploaded or stored.

Local processing — files stay in your browser

  • Note generation runs on your device with no network requests.
  • Nothing you paste is saved after the tab is closed.
  • No account or API key is required.

Limitations

What this tool does not do

  • Grouping is sequential, not semantic — sentences about the same idea may land in different topics.
  • The tool structures your text; it does not summarize or rewrite it.
  • You will usually want to edit the notes by hand afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Notes Generator

How does it decide what belongs together?

It groups sentences in order, three at a time. It does not analyze meaning, so related sentences can be split across topics.

Can I control the topic size?

Not directly — topics are fixed at three sentences. You can edit the result after copying it out.

Is this a summarizer?

No. Every sentence is kept; the tool only reorganizes them into a structured outline.

Is my text private?

Yes. All processing happens locally and nothing is transmitted.

What should I do with the notes?

Paste them into the Flashcard Generator or Quiz Generator to turn the structure into active recall practice.
