Do my PDFs get uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF tools process files locally in your browser — the file is read into memory on your device and never transmitted. This makes them safe for contracts, resumes, and financial documents.
Can I compress a scanned PDF?
The PDF Compressor preserves images rather than re-encoding them, so scanned PDFs (which are essentially large images) barely shrink. For scans, compress the page images first, then rebuild the PDF.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?
No. Converting to editable Word text requires a text layer, and scanned PDFs are images of pages. The PDF to Word tool works with text-based PDFs only; OCR is not included.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no server-side limit. The practical constraint is your browser's memory — very large files take longer and may be limited on low-memory devices.
