Overview
What does Flashcard Generator do?
Paste a longer passage and choose how many cards to create (8 by default). Each card takes a substantial sentence, turns its opening words into the question, and keeps the full sentence as the answer.
Review the deck by reading the question, recalling the answer, then flipping to the full sentence to check yourself.
Under the hood
How does it work?
The tool splits your text into sentences, keeps those that are long enough to carry real content, and builds a card from each. The question side is the sentence's first few words with a question mark; the answer side is the complete original sentence, so the fact is always preserved.

Technical information
How the details work
Sentences are detected with a regex split on sentence-ending punctuation, and fragments shorter than five words or twenty characters are discarded. The question side takes the first eight words of the sentence and adds a question mark; the answer side is the complete sentence.

Limitations
What this tool does not do
- Questions are mechanical (first words of the sentence) — they may not be the most probing question for every fact.
- The tool creates cards; it does not schedule spaced repetition for you.
- Very short or list-like input will not produce useful cards.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Flashcard Generator
How many flashcards should I make?
Start with 8. More cards mean more recall practice, but review them in small batches so they stick.
How do I review these?
Read the question, answer out loud or in your head, then reveal the full sentence to check. That retrieval step is what builds memory.
Does it support spaced repetition?
Not yet — the tool generates the deck. For scheduling, copy the cards into a spaced-repetition app.
Is my material private?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Why is the question just the first words of the sentence?
The question is built automatically from the sentence opening. For better questions, rewrite them by hand — the answers stay accurate either way.
